Dr. Allison Sherman is dedicated to providing personalized, high-quality dental care in a comfortable, welcoming environment. She believes oral health is an essential part of overall wellness and is committed to helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles through thoughtful, individualized treatment. Known for her compassionate and gentle approach, Dr. Sherman takes the time to listen to her patients, answer their questions, and build lasting relationships based on trust and open communication.

Dr. Sherman graduated cum laude from Tulane University in New Orleans before spending a year as a surgical assistant in an oral surgery practice. She then earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. During dental school, she was inducted into the Gorgas Odontological Honor Society for her commitment to continuing education and the Gamma Phi Prosthodontic Honor Society in recognition of excellence in prosthodontics and operative dentistry.

She completed a postdoctoral residency at WellSpan York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania, where she received advanced training in comprehensive general dentistry. Dr. Sherman provides a full range of dental services, is Invisalign certified, and has extensive experience with digital dentistry. She is passionate about lifelong learning and regularly pursues continuing education to ensure her patients benefit from the latest advancements in dentistry.

After completing her residency, Dr. Sherman practiced in Washington, D.C., before moving to Manhattan, where she spent a year and a half practicing in a holistic dental office. It was there that she was first introduced to holistic dentistry and developed an appreciation for its whole-body approach to oral health. That experience shaped her philosophy of care, reinforcing the importance of personalized treatment, prevention, and considering each patient’s overall health when developing treatment plans. She is excited to bring that perspective to her patients by combining evidence-based dentistry with a compassionate, wellness-focused approach to care.

Originally from Rockville, Maryland, Dr. Sherman is proud to be practicing close to home. After several years in Washington, D.C., and New York City, she returned to Maryland to be closer to family. Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, their young son, and their dog.
